Hi All,
It's my first time - please be gentle!
I am looking at applying to become a signaller but wanted to ask a few questions to some genuine experienced folk. I'm hoping to gain some clarity and information prior to applying to make sure it's right for me
The application is labelled as follows: Location - ELY
Department -OC MOM Cambridge (822934) G1
So my first question is - where will I be working Ely or Cambs? And secondly I've read and seen information about grading's but what does it actually mean and how does the scale work? (I'm assuming this is grade 1 from the G1 suffix?)
General Questions:
How are salaries affected by grading and then during training as I have a mortgage to pay so need to make sure my minimum take home is the same as, if not more than I am currently on?
What are the shifts like in the real world - I grew up in a policing family so I know shift work isn't easy but how do the rotas actually work? are they flexible with holiday etc?
What should I expect from the selection/aptitude tests online and the further processes should I be successful?
I will say thank you in advance to anyone who can take time to answer my questions and also apologise in advance as I am 99.9% sure that there will be more questions to follow. I get the feeling that you're all very helpful and knowledgeable people so I'm hoping this pays off.
