Hello everyone, it’s my first time posting here so bear with me. I’ve been reading through all of the threads regarding signalling and the information posted has been invaluable so far. I have applied for a Grade 3 position in Melton Mowbray, I completed the three online assessments on Saturday (4 days ago) and received an email the following day to say that I had met the required benchmark and to await further correspondence. Just wondered roughly how long it took for people to hear about possible interviews at this stage?

Read the sticky at the top of the forum.... all your questions and more will be answered in that thread....

but in short, could be a few weeks, could be a few months, railway recruitment is slow at the best of times, add COVID-19 to the mix and it has got slower.
To give you a example, I applied in Feb/March (I think) but interview was June! Started job sept... so 7 months in total!

Try not to think about it, you will be emailed if you get an interview. Meantime, forget the application, apply for others and continue with life!!!!

I had an interview 2 weeks after the closing date but the next application was nearly 3 months for an interview after closing date. Then 2 months for a medical and a further 4 months for a start date. That was before the world stopped.

So in essence no one can tell you every application can vary. It takes however long it takes.

And read the sticky a career as a signaller. It will answer all your questions.8-)

It really is a case of how long is a piece of string! Not very helpful I know but i think almost everyone who has applied for a signalling job has had to wait different lengths of time for interviews and so on!
