Probably because it was only shown when the first of the last 2 services run by 455's was actually at Haslemere. (There was so much demand that a 2nd last ever service was added, so much so it's made BBC News !)That's interesting. First few posts on this thread (7 pages back!) explain why the signaller needs to be aware of sidings etc that haven’t been used for a while. Rust on the railhead could lead to a wrong-side track circuit failure, with the siding apparently clear, but a train in there, invisible to the signalling system.A more or less disused siding near me has the code 'RUST'![]()
