Not everything has to be an acronym or abbreviation!

When I went through Northampton yesterday there was a wagon up on Jacks with a team looking at it, I'd hazard a guess for rerailing or wheel skate, and that will have required the Up & Down Slow to be blocked to create a safe working area as it's that side they're looking at. As the UDS is often used for shunting ECS units and recessing freight, the 'Nope' is just as likely to be a straightforward reminder as any clever contraction.

Most likely DnDC means Down direction route on the Down Charfield line (towards Bristol, the down line to Westerleigh Junction is known as the Down Charfield line). Yes, the Dn is a bit redundant, but this format is typical for this area. As in other areas there may be reversible routes available.

This "berth" is indicating that the TD (Train Describer) has received an input from the signalling system telling it which route has been selected by the signaller for G70 signal. With no route set, the "berth" will be blank.

This facility is only shown for this signal because the data needs to be sent to the TD system for the adjacent signal box (TVSC controlling the Bristol area).

Elsewhere, no route data is shown.

Also quite common to see departure times in front of trains with long dwells at stations or yards. Have also seen 'SHUT TIL-' messages or similar at Didcot Yard.

Wondering if anyone can explain the code P278 between Wallyford and Muselburgh here? It doesn't seem tangible as trains appear in the same berth as shown here with 1E12 approaching from Edinburgh (on the left) passing Musselburgh.

Also what might I278 on the Leith branch be? Couldn't see anyone on site while passing, even when "DETS" flashed up on the northern loop of the Leith branch.
