Project Overview
VinSpeed, in partnership with Siemens Mobility, is developing various high-speed rail lines across Vietnam. Specifically, two high-speed routes: the Ha Noi – Quang Ninh (Ha Long) line, covering 121 kilometers with four stations, and the Ben Thanh – Can Gio line, spanning 54 kilometers with two stations. All lines will be equipped with state-of-the-art rail technologies, including ETCS Level 2 signaling, electrification, communications systems, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

This got one quite out of the blue. I know that Siemens has also won that big deal in Egypt, but China has also won big business in Indonesia with the Whoosh and has built a semi high speed line in Laos. I'd have thought the Chinese would have been able to compete much more cheaply, & they also have their latest CR450 stock & should also be able to provide a complete package.

It may be significant that these two lines are being developed by a private company, part of the Vingroup conglomorate.

The main North-South express railway will be built by the Vietnamese government in partnership with China and will be connected to the Chinese high speed rail network.
