Shunter interview (advice please)

So as previously stated on a thread I started earlier I had an interview for a shunters position in Oxford. According to the interviewer the medical takes place next Friday and we should have found out if successful yesterday. However, I have received no email regarding acceptance or decline and my status on the FGW careers web page has no update either just "invited to first interview". Im not too worried now if I got through to the medical or not I just would like to know. Is this normal from FGW? Do they often take a while to get back to you regarding the position?

Any help from any previous experience would be great

Railway HR departments often work in slow and mysterious ways...you may get told sometime today but if you don't, try to enjoy the rest of the weekend and give them a ring Monday afternoon.

Thanks man. Just frustrating really specially after being told i would have known yesterday. I suppose no news is good news

I'm in the same boat, i applied for cleaner/cover shunter at Exeter, did a assessment on 12th was told we know by Thursday afternoon if i get to a interview, i know its a waiting game but i can't even prepare as FGW wont give a detailed job description, they said it be explained at the interview.

I know Ian. They let me know literally the next day that I passed my assessment. Frustrating as hell. The medical is next Friday as well if I get accepted so I have to get some time off my my current job to attended the medical. So it would be great to know by latest today really
