Hey folks, the last few times I've been in Shrewsbury the freight road between platforms 3 and 4 has been out of use with stop boards at either end. Does anyone know what is going on with this?

Didn't something derail there recently and do some damage to the points at the Crewe end of the station?

The actual fixing of it took a few shifts. The problem was the funding and trying to find a blockade in the service pattern to undertake the works, plus the bespoke components that required manufacturing!

Not for some years yet. The track is more than suitable for its 15mph linespeed and the level of maintenance around the station is very good considering the age of some components. It actually fairs pretty well when the TRU records through too.
