My MP is continuing to go for the populist vote with his campaign to have Govia stripped of the 'franchise' (his words). He's Tweeted a photo showing how in the old days you could get from WGC to Hatfield in 21 minutes and pointing out how it now takes nearer 28 minutes. I think he either doesn't realise that if you are running more and more trains then you can't really run fast services, or being deliberately obtuse.
Both Grant Shapps and Sadiq Khan know that in a few months it will hopefully be back to normal and, as history shows, people will forget. And even without doing anything more than giving soundbites to the media, they'll be remembered for taking positive 'action'. Talk is cheap.
