I use signalbox, not the absolute most accurate app of where trains are, but can't find anything better.
In times where some lines are obstructed, would be really useful to know exactly where on a map, so one can work away round it possibly. A TOC simply saying "line obstruction between A and B" is unhelpful if you don't know the area and lines well.
For the roads there is Traffic England's map which will show any roadworks, obstructions and traffic flows in almost real-time, so why not the rail, after all there are much fewer miles of rail than road>
