Ramsgate to Dover direction. No idea where it had actually come from though, as there was and still isn't any data for the movement on Real Time Trains, it could have conceivably come from Canterbury West direction as well.

Only thing I can think is it was a diverted service where the change of path wouldn't show on RTT

Yes, certainly not a passenger movement though. Also doesn't explain the open nose cones and very reduced speed.
