A very weird thing happened today.
At 7:14 at Purley a 377/7 appeared , on the PIS as well , running Purley non stop to Redhill, it went to platform 0 from which there it turned around and headed ECS back towards London.

Why did this happen? The PIS said it's not calling at the Sutton line stations so I assume it was diverted due to incident there, but why did it go to Redhill of all places?

Yeah it was diverted as the whole line from West Croydon to Sutton was shut and there was few other places suitable to turn around trains. Too busy to reverse on the Reversible Slow at East or South Croydon so they just continued until they are out of the mainline’s way. I am aware of another train that turned around at Coulsdon Town.
