Shops near Manchester Piccadilly (MAN)

Got 2 hours at MAN tomorrow morning (08:30ish-10:30ish) anyone know of any supermarkets etc where I can get some snacks etc?

There is a Sainsburys and an M&S Food at the station.

If you walk down the old station approach (past Ian Allan bookstore), straight on at the lights, then there's a Coop on the right and a Tesco Metro on the left. By then you will have walked past two Greggs as well!

Cheers, I'll see if theres time to pop into the aforementioned bookstore as well.

I'm sure you'll have plenty time for the bookshop - it is just down the station approach. If you have time to kill after that and visiting a food outlet, I find Piccadilly an interesting place just to observe as there is always something going on with trains coming and going (even in the 30 mins I had there at 9pm the other Sunday!)

Yeah, plus my train goes of platform 13, so I can head there early.

There is an excellent and incredibly cheap shop called Quality Save in Piccadilly Gardens no more than 5 minutes walk away (or you could always have a quick tram ride!), to reach it leave the station by the front entrance and cross the approach road to the bridge, then walk down Aytoun St. Pass the TfGM Head Office on the right. It's also adjacent to a Tesco Express and there's a SPAR a few units along from it. Don't Google maps them because they look to be in completely the wrong place!

In most of the country something very similar - or possible the same, depending on who you speak to - to Quality Save operates as Home Bargains.

I've been to the Sainsburys on station frequently - reasonably priced.
