Question:

I am wanting to travel from London to Shoeburyness. However I want to travel outwards on C2C and return to London via NXEA changing at Southend. Am i allowed to do this using anytime day return ticket?

Am I right in thinking both lines are DOO and all stations are barried? Will this mean I come across more problems trying to use this ticket combination?

I can't see why not as Shoeburyness is associated to Southend Group :) and valid routes from Southend to London are both via the c2c lines and the NXEA route!

Yes, that should be fine. I don't know why there are two separate routes for the ticket as route BARKING and route ANY PERMITTED cost the exact same.

Can I ask where is your actual origin and do you hold any tickets already? (ie, how are you getting from wherever you live to Fenchurch St?)

If you have a problem, you could just get a return from wherever to "Southend Stations", and then a return from Central to Shoeburyness (why would you want to go there anyway? - even folk on the Blue Train thing said as much!). It will only set you back somewhere between £2.20 and £3.20, depending on when you go. Be advised however that this is not available for local journeys, so if you are starting anywhere that has local fares to Southend, which is pretty much all of Essex and East London, it will not be possible. Also, remember that any c2c journey to Benfleet or further east from Barking or further west is valid on any eastbound c2c route between the two.

A word of warning; there are major roadworks outside of Southend Victoria at present (they are converting the A13/A127 junction into a traffic light -operated one from a roundabout), so you are strongly recommended to go through Victoria Shopping Centre to get to/from Victoria.

N.B.: Don't take this as a "be-all-and-end-all" solution, but I'm sure I've done this before now...!
