Noticed the line continues past Shoeburyness Station to a MOD site , how often does this line get used ?

It's used to store out of use rolling stock. You used to be able to see a collection of old trains through the fence, not sure if you still can.

I have heard that the storage of old units is being wound down due to trespass incidents, if you're talking about the QinetiQ site.

ISTR it was used to both remove asbestos and store prior to scraping mk1 coaching stock especially EMUs

I see , i noticed a video from 2009 of wagons going over the crossing . The rails didnt look rusty

There are semi regular deliveries of things that go BANG! or things that are gonna have things go bang in in them. I can’t help on timetabling for this I’m afraid.

In my day as Contract Manager - there were 3 weekly workings from Temple Mills for the MOD - M/W/Fri , often poorly loaded to the extent of one loaded wagon , dwarfed by the loco and barrier wagons either side.

With so many vehicles going off lease in the next few years presumably sites like this will be much in demand.

When i looked at Google Earth imagery there wasn't any wagons on the site .
