I'm not sure where to put this but I thought I'd share this article from the Manchester Evening News with you. It is from a couple of years ago, but I doubt this makes much difference to the facts.
Pay attention to the "Commute" sections listed under each place. Bromley Cross apparently doesn't have a direct link to Manchester, and Stalybridge is 25 minutes by train from Manchester, whilst Huddersfield AND Leeds are just 5 minutes longer.
I hate sloppy journalism where research has clearly been basic (or non-existent).
