I've caught the 15:36 train from Seven Kings the last few days, and it's always been a 4 car train. It was always an 8 car train before this week, and was just wondering if there was any particular reason for this? It's certainly caught some people by surprise when it stops short on the platform!

As far as I know they should always be 8-car. I was at Shenfield a couple of weeks ago, during the Christmas down-time (I'll stop short of "holiday"; it was afterwards technically) and at 20:30 at that, and even then it ran 8-car trains. Could it be down to units failing in the weather?

There's been a few services run as 4-cars this week, my regular from Forest Gate (13:54 to Liv St) has been, as well as the 13:51 to Shenfield.

They (or a lot of them anyway) are booked four car off-peak since the December timetable change, they should have been four cars since before them but due to a lack of traincrew they were being remaining as eight as the drivers to move the ECS units to Ilford/Gidea Pk between the peaks weren't available.
The fleet is in a bit of a pickle at the moment so there may be some extra all day eight cars for a while as units with restrictions stay in eight cars rather than getting split into fours.
