As far as I can tell the answer is yes but I just wanted to double check with the experts...
I know Sheffield to Nottingham is valid via Derby and Sheffield to Derby is valid via Nottingham, but can you do the DBY-NOT or vice-versa leg via a change at East Midlands Parkway or does it have to be the direct Long Eaton to Attenborough side of the triangle? In particular, would I be valid on a SHF-DBY CDR to go SHF-NOT direct (break outward journey), then later EMD-SHF via DBY (resuming the outward at EMD and switching to the return at DBY)?
The reason this is of interest is that the last direct NOT-SHF train on a Sunday is around half past 9, but there's one an hour later from EMD and I have the option to get dropped off there by a friend.
(and SHF-DBY CDR is £10.80, SHF-NOT CDR is £12.80, SHF-EMD has no CDR, and the SVR is a whopping £19.20)
