Apologies if this is not the correct place but I plan on visiting a few pubs tomorrow specifically the Wellington in Shalesmoor , please could someone kindly tell me what ticket to get that will cover Sheffield trams and do I alight the train at Meadowhall or Sheffield to get the tram ?

Also if anyone can post any decent boozers on that tramline between Sheffield /Meadowhall and shalesmoor with a couple of mins walk of tram stop I would be grateful

there is a tram stop at Meadowhall but it rally depends on where you are heading on the tram as to where to get it from - meadow hall is about 20 mins from the centre of the city by `tram

I am sure heir is a day ticket for the tram network

Thanks very much for your reply much appreciated im coming from Lancashire , and going to Shalesmoor ( tram ) and if I receive any recommendations on pubs on the tram line enroute im more than likely to pay them a visit aswell

You can catch trams at either Meadowhall or Sheffield direct to Shalesmoor. Yellow route at Meadowhall; Blue Route at Sheffield Station. (Note: not Purple at Sheffield Station - that only goes as far as Cathedral). It will be a marginally quicker tram ride from Sheffield - give or take waiting time.

The Bath Hotel and the Red Deer are just a couple close to the West Street stop, and there are a variety of the Kelham Island pubs with an easy walk of Shalesmoor. The Hillsborough stop is about as close to the door of the Rawson Spring Wetherspoons as it is possible to be with actually being inside!

It's the same frequency between Meadowhall and Shalesmoor at it is between the Station and Shalesmoor. If you get off at the station then the tram is up on the hillside 'behind' the station rather than towards the main entrance/exit - as said above, the purple tram terminates in the city centre so you can use it to change to a yellow tram towards Shalesmoor

Not much in the way of pubs near the stops between Meadowhall and the city centre but plenty off West Street (Trippet Lane/ Division Street area - the Bath and Red Deer are great recommendations above) as you go between the city centre and university

Then it's a fast ride through the tunnel and down the hill to Shalesmoor, from which it's a short walk to the pubs around Kelham Island (either head straight towards the Fat Cat/ Kelham Island Tavern etc on Alma Street or if you fancy a longer route then walk from the Welly up Penistone Road dual carriageway, turn right at the Wickes onto Rutland Road, cross the river and there's a pub crawl worth of establishments as you walk back towards the city centre, roughly alongside the river)

Thanks very much to you all , some good recommendations and very helpful information . I will give the longer walks a miss , my legs won’t tolerate it haha , but I do hope that the Kelham island lot are within easy walking distance if Shalesmoor the whole tram line and places is new to me as I’ve never done it

The Ship Inn opposite Shalesmoor is a good pub to visit.
