Shap summit car parking

Thinking of going up Shap this Saturday for the 2 tours but just wondering what it’s like for parking. Thinking of going just past tebay on M6 if anyone could let me know what parking is like around there.

Not really. Doubt you'd be able to park at (or walk through) the Granite Works at Shap.

There is actually a layby near the summit, leave the M6 Northbound at J39, turn left on the B6261, left again onto the A6 and it's immediately on your left. It has a 6' steel fence along the wall now though so not good for photo's

Not really. Doubt you'd be able to park at (or walk through) the Granite Works at Shap.

That's common sense, it's private property and is most likely not accessible...

Been up there many times.
Instead of going for the A6 stay on the B6261. There are plenty of possibilities off that road and any number of places to park.
Just have a look at Google Maps and street view. You'll get the idea!
