I noticed your post, double checked the date and thought snap!! Bren up here as relief driver for one of our coach tours for the day, was back at Montrose by 1530 so had time for a spin to Stonehaven to knock that off, using the Break of Journey to knock off Laurencekirk on the way back with an easy +10 for train behind which helped!

I assume you did it earlier was thinking would be funny it you was on the same train!

Only just. Arrived L’kirk 1443; left 1506 then south from Aberdeennon the 1604 (drop back at Leuchars, where I didn’t get a photo in 1985, for the one and only Springfield train)

Oh!! The 1604 HST? In that case we did cross paths, I saw that come in as I was on the 158 in the opposite platform on the 1651 Montrose - Iverurie up to Stonehaven

Even the walk to Monifieth in the teeth of a strong westerly wind on Friday was quite an ordeal!

A somewhat blustery and wet but warmish trip into Lancashire to finish off the county. At times it was the very definition of "its grim up North". However, every train on time, not one cancellation and from my viewpoint good patronage throughout the day even at the so called quiet times and an enjoyable day on the East Lancs Line.
