(A felicitous score - was heading down to Reading on my "Not via Birmingham or London" route - Manchester/Crewe/Nuneaton/Leamington/Banbury/Oxford - when I noticed that the Chiltern service I caught from LMS gratuitously called at Kings Sutton, and there was a Banbury to Didcot local 20 odd minutes behind! Decided it would be rude not to take advantage!)

No sign of them, even when I took the "direct" route off the platform past their house. Was a bit disappointed!The Mercian

Another day on a Lancashire Day Ranger bouncing around ticking off slightly more problematic stations added to which numerous cancellations meaning changing plans on the hoof. At least the weather brightened up as the day went on.

The horror stories of people struggling to access Peartree seem unfounded; the buzzer was answered quickly by a very friendly lady and I got access no issues. The day was almost jeopardised by XC's timekeeping, but all planned shacks hit.

That's good regarding Peartree. I have a 50% success rate having watched the train come and go whilst trying to access the station the first time, fortunately I was able to exit the station the next time I tried! Didn't fancy being trapped for hours.
