10/01/2026 - Metrolink speedrun attempt 1
Dane Road (Had spare time to get to Altrincham before starting so stepped back a tram at the least used station on the line)
Firswood (didn't need to use it, but a laterunning Airport tram came before the East Didsbury I'd planned for)

Monday 12 January
I got the 0515 to Carlisle (using a Northern complimentary return) and headed to Preston via the S&C with Avanti, I was then able to tick off:
Poulton-le-Fylde
Blackpool South
Squires Gate and
Blackpool Pleasure Beach (I've now ticked off all stations west of Preston).
Thursday 15 January
Up early (with another Northern complimentary return) via Carnforth and Barrow to visit:
Nethertown (I tried to do this a few weeks ago; I walked from Braystones but then every train was cancelled - and there's not many that stop there anyway - so Northern had to taxi me from here to Whitehaven)

Parton
By that point, I was cold, tired and probably only an hour from sunset. So I gave up for the day so I could get an earlier S&C train home.
Now I’ve done every station from Drigg to Parton, I'll do pincer movements in future to complete the stations north and south of that stretch of the Cumbrian Coast Line.
National Rail stations done: 622/2,588 (I don't count Raventhorpe anymore as it'll reopen in a new location!)
