How did you do Ardwick? By car?Somehow omitted to add these for 26/7
Ardwick
Ashburys
Well done clearing Salwick, a very restricted service station.5 August 2025.
Managed to tick of 12 new stations. The two things I wanted to do with my day was to tick off Salwick (6 trains a day), and do pretty much the full tram run from Fleetwood to Blackpool South.
Mill Hill (Lancashire)
Cherry Tree
Pleasington
Bamber Bridge
Lostock Hall, so I've now done all the stations between Preston and Leeds
I got to Preston in time to catch a delayed hourly Layton train (I can do Poulton-le-Fylde easily next time I'm passing through Preston), then got a bus to Fleetwood for lunch and the tram.
I got to Blackpool South to discover the next train was cancelled due to an obstruction on the line but the train was being started at St Anne's, so got a taxi there to catch it with 3 minutes to spare.
St.Annes-On-The-Sea
Ansdell & Fairhaven, then walk to
Lytham
Moss Side
Kirkham & Wesham, then a taxi to
Salwick - one of two people waiting for the 1802 to Preston.
One train in the morning inbound to Picc and one in the evening outbound. Short walk, about 20 odd minutes back to Piccadilly if you don’t want to spend 8 hours hanging aboutHow did you do Ardwick? By car?

Or about 4 minutes to a busy bus route!
From what I remember of the surroundings, I’d have expected a similar reaction to asking to go “Sarf of the river”.Or if exceptionally lazy in the early morning a short cab ride.
No. 0703 Manchester - Glossop as far as Ashburys and its a 7 min wait for the ex Glossop train which calls at Ardwick. Alight and Walk to Piccadilly. How did you do Ardwick? By car?

Its a faff to get off the platform (2 Steep flights of Stairs) and the entrance has Rubbish strewn everywhere ,a bit like Birmingham at the moment!

I knew that there was an evening train stopping there as my mate who was a driver off Piccadilly had told me. You answered my question thank you.One train in the morning inbound to Picc and one in the evening outbound.
