Went for Lelant Saltings this morning. Walked from the hotel in Hayle. Onto platform, train showing on RTT. 15 minutes before arrival- cancelled.

Grrrrrrr. Said a very rude word at the time.

That's a shame, I think i'll have to make a similar plan to get it with it having such a limited service so I can empathise.

Sole Street - I started there (at 05.17 - yuck). The less said about the drive from the West Country through monsoons the better. Having picked off that bit, I then relocated to Halling.

Thanks, it's one I've had to leave for another time although I'm consciously trying to do the fiddly ones. Had a bit of a wet morning myself as I did Cuxton, Halling and New Hythe but fortunately the weather then improved.

I’m reconciling myself to having to abandon thoughts of Yalding and Beltring today thanks to a meltdown of the Strood - PW service.

Totally agree about Sandling. I did it in 2022 and it has one of the best waiting rooms I have seen at a small part time staffed station. Complete contrast to Westenhanger (where I had walked from)
