Day 3 Sunday
Only 1 shack planned for today, Hykeham
After a visit to the nearby Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum I pitched up at Hykeham for the 1344 to Nottingham only to find it not even showing on the departure screens! The next service at 1446 was showing as Cancelled due to no traincrew!
So to cut a long story short I ended up on a Replacement Bus from there at around 1515 which called at all bar 2 stops to Nottingham and took just shy of 2 hours. This completely wrecked my plan to get home but I just managed the 1716 XC to Tamworth for a +56 wait for LNW To Rugby and a taxi home
Not able to cross Hykeham off the list then! Think I wiil challk this one off as just one of those things....

Hi Everyone
As promised Andy Pacer..

East Midlands Rover Day 1
First Ivanhoe Line Station: Syston
Last Derwent Valley Line Station: Ambergate
And ....Peartree
Took the desicion to board a train there rather than alight and run the risk of being unable to get off the station! So turned up in more than enough time for the 1717 to Derby/Newark. Already 1 other passenger waiting (seen from the road bridge) The Security Gate was still ajar ( possibly it didn't close fully after the last person) so had no issues getting on!
Another person joined us and yet another was waiting on the opposite side (1750 to Crewe). Our Train arrived 24 minutes late and at least 3 people alighted.
I stayed on this train (158865) through to Station no.4 for me today....
Beeston

Tomorrows plan should involve
Ilkeston (View and walk over Bennerley Viaduct)
Willington
Longton..
Thanks for sharing regarding Peartree, fortunately I'm fairly local so can try it again sometime.

I have now done all of the stations in the West Midlands!

The first one was Bordesley - Being a university student with an awful sleeping pattern I appreciated being able to take the 14:30 departure from Moor Street, timed to stop at Bordesley in time to make the 15:00 kickoff at St. Andrews.

The last one I needed was Coventry Arena which I did on a round trip between Coventry and Nuneaton. Incidentally the return trip also saw a lot of football fans get on. Fortunately when onboard both sets of fans were very well behaved, although of course I did see someone getting arrested at Coventry.

Courtesy of a 3 in 7 HoE Rover, which I used also to chase a few required sights and haulages (see my posts in ' Urgent Tops Requests', thanks to 03_179 again!)

Monday
Hanborough
Charlbury
Worcestershire Parkway
Had planned on continuing jumping station to station on Cotswold line (hourly service) and 'do' Kingham Honeybourne and Pershore, but 2 Northbound Trains in a row where cancelled at Charlbury due to a Suicide at Evesham (They were caped at Oxford) so to stay on my planned schedule I Went direct to Worcestershire Parkway.
I can best describe this new station as 'Functional'. One thing it lacks is any form of Catering. Why no Small Independent Cafe, open 0600 to 1800 say?

Tuesday
Leominster. Nice Town but station in need of a bit of TLC. Staffed though which is nice to see.

Today
Lye. Destaffed not all that long ago I believe. Portable style ticket office still in Situ. Somewhat depressing in the Drizzle!

Apologies the photo seems to have uploaded upside down!!

A very short distance from Lye there is a street sign for "Lye By-Pass" which i always find hilarious for some reason.

I had to go up to that London for work and the most convenient and cheap Premier Inn I could was in Croydon, so went into London Bridge from West Croydon (392 ✅) changing at Norwood Junction (393 ✅)

I arrived back in Manchester late on Friday, so thought I'd stay overnight and try for the Saturday only stations in the area.
All was well first thing with a 150 allocated, though both services were cancelled due to train crew issues between breakfast and me arriving at Denton.:frown:
Another time maybe.

I'm sure if you put forward a business case and the money to build / convert it, they'll be happy to let you operate one!

Went to Stoke-on-Trent to cycle the Potteries loop line. As I'd already had Kidsgrove I thought I might as well get in Longport this time. Pair of 158s was over half an hour late.

A spare morning in London, so a spot of filling in gaps resulted in the following being newly graced withy presence:
Chiswick (might have been before, but not ticked off on list)
Beckenham Hill
Bellingham
Ravensbourne
New Beckenham
Ladywell
Lower Sydenham
New Eltham
Mottingjam

Plus new tube stops at Battersea PS and Nine Elms to complete that network (again)
