G'day all,

Well the title says’s it all really! The latest copy of Ordnance Survey 269 map still show's the junction as being in place but I'm curious to know whether this is actually the case. If so I'll go and have a look next time I'm in the Motherland!

And whilst we're at it is there still track through the village of Clowne?

Any contributions would be very welcome!

Many thanks,

Richmond Commuter!

Clowne is gone alas as has Markham to Bolsover. The yard at Seymour has also gone along with the stocking site branch and Oxcroft. Hall Lane Jn. to Markham was supposed to be re-opening for the Markham distribution park but it more resembles the national forest than a railway line...

So presumably Foxlow Junction has gone too? I havn't been diverted via the 'Old Road' for a long time.

It's all very sad really, the possibility of a Mansfield - Sheffield service that way has been virtually eliminated now.

Well if Hall Lane Jct has survived then I'm assuming that Foxlow Jct has too? I'll have a butchers when I'm up in two weeks time and report back. In the mean time any information would be most welcome!

I believe a lot of the track going eastwards from Seymour Junction has been stolen buy track thieves, partially on the branch to Bolsover. But I also believe Network Rail has or is planning to lift the remaining track on the Oxcroft branch.

Markham was supposed to be re-opening for the Markham distribution park but it more resembles the national forest than a railway line...

I do believe there is a plan for this but when (or even) it might happen I don't know.

The Seymour Junction area will see development in the future, with the current plans for HS2 having the eastern branch of the 'Y' to Leeds infrastructure depot being located close by.

All plans seem to have been put on the back burner for now, there was even supposed to be plans to run the 'Bin Liner' trains down to Bolsover to replace the service to Roxby. All track from where the box used to stand towards Oxcroft and over to Creswell has been removed by contractors with a little help from the local metal thieves. What remained of the box was demolished and the whole area is now returning to nature. Foxlow junction is clipped out of use. There is no operational signalling between Foxlow and Hall Lane and between Barrow Hill and Hall Lane due to there being no wiring left in the area.
