Do wonder why services have been run to get people from Grantham when people remain stuck on failed train.

Surely running HST alongside and evacuating should be the priority? Conditions must be getting grim on there now.

People, once on station have access to facilities and support (if VTEC implement them) with greater ease than those stuck for 5 hours + (as it stands now)

Service sitting down for 5+ hours less than 15 mins in either direction from a station with no plan of action - jeez someone needs a please explain.

I thought lessons had been learnt after the Thameslink Kentish Town incident but it would seem not.

1G30 to run to Leeds. So assume taxis to Bradford. Late nights for lots of people

Got a mate who was at Yorfest tonight at York Racecourse. Does he have any option of coming back via the WCML if its all still messed up on Sunday. I guess he has an advance on VTEC back to London.

Currently showing on OTT as being an all tracks T3 possession over all tracks, don't know how many miles of track that would be.

Is it known if the pan damaged the OLE or the OLE damaged the pan? The damage was apparantly extensive:

Overhead wire damage between Peterborough and Grantham is causing disruption to trains between these stations.
Network Rail are working to repair the extensive damage to the overhead wire.

From the start of service Sunday, trains may be delayed, revised or cancelled.

Damage to Overhead equipment was found on up slow, up fast and down slow. There waa a snapped head span, parted caterary wires on down and up fast And 2 registration arms.

1E23 terminated at Peterborough. 1G11 1A50 and 1E21 all returned to Grantham.
1N33, 1N34 and 1D34 terminaed Peterborough (restarted from Grantham).
With the Hst off 1E23 working shuttles between Peterborough and Grantham to get passengers between the 2 stations.

1D30 eventually moved 317 minutes late!!

A good friend got back to Stevenage at 2.52am over 6 hours late! Surely this could have been dealt with faster? Do Network rail, train and freight operators ever do drills to test processes and most importantly communications?

Depending on ticket acceptance (assuming they are on an Advance) their best alternative route is to go to Sheffield and then use EMT to St Pancras.

Had a quick look at VTEC twitter (poor buggers) & struggling to see acceptance info. He's not booked until the 15.57 on an Advance but given extent of the damage I can't seen there being the lines open by then?

I suggested he gets to York station ASAP and gets on anything heading south.

VTEC have just tweeted that they don't have ticket acceptance in place with any other TOC. What a ridiculous situation

NRE is not showing any VTEC disruption this morning.
But then there are no services to/from King's Cross until 1000 because of planned engineering work south of Peterborough.
It would be remarkable if NR has repaired the OHLE damage overnight.

Fair play if they have. Not knowing the section involved is there only one line operating with bang road or is it bi-directional?

There's no bidi (with the exceptions of major stations and a tiny bit around York station) south of Northallerton.

Looking like they will have two lines open shortly according to NR. VTEC have also tweeted that you still have to stick with your original booked service if on an Advance.

All lines appear to be open in the area now with OTT showing no T3's planned engineering work meant early morning VT services were terminating short of London

The 12:33 Kings X to Leeds is cancelled with passengers told to travel on the 13:03

The 14:20 Newcastle to Kings X is cancelled with passengers told to travel on the 14.31 or 14.45

The down fast remains closed at the moment with services going onto the up slow and rejoining the DF just past the affected area this is delaying services by about 5 minutes
