Settlement fine/cost

Hello, I was stopped at Stratford this morning by a ticket inspector as I tapped in , I start my journey at wickford on abellio greater Anglia then Get off at Stratford and change on to the tube. I work shifts as a nurse and in an effort to keep down cost I have been buying weekly tickets to shenfield, getting off and tapping my oyster and getting either the TfL rail or abellio to Stratford depending on which comes first. Recently through my own laziness and poor judgement I haven't been getting off at shenfield and instead have been traveling between shenfield and Stratford without a ticket. When stopped I fully explained my situation however the inspector recognised my partner who had been stopped two weeks previously when using my weekly ticket (we both work shifts and were therefore only using 3 of the 7 days in a weekly and were unaware these were non transferable). I admitted both incidients and was cautioned for both. I am fully expecting a fine as we have broke by laws and I was wondering if people knew approximately the cost of the fines or out of court settlements? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated

If your lucky you'll just get a fine or out of court settlement and that will easily be into the several hundreds of pounds.

Unless of course AGA/TfL decide to skip the out of court settlement and Byelaws prosecution which would be non-recordable and a fine and go right to a Regulation of Railways Act (RoRA) prosecution which they could easily do. What you've been doing (donuting) is one of the most common forms of fare evasion in London so the TOCs like to come down on it and the fact you've been caught before breaking ticket rules increases the chance of them doing that. That will end with a recordable criminal record and a fine.

Really!? I'm sorry, but personally, I find this hard to believe

I'm sure the ticket inspectors have wised up to this tactic and as you/your partner are known to the TOC, I wouldn't be surprised if they went straight to prosecution

How long have you been travelling between Shenfield and Stratford without a ticket?

This is the more serious matter. Season tickets require a Photocard, so it's very hard to understand how you concluded that these could be shared.
