Cefn-y-bedd is also spelt incorrectly with a capital "B" in the final word on this forum......myself being the offender some time ago..

Another place that is not pronounced how you think it might be from the spelling (I think it's a fairly safe bet that Cefn-y-bedd isn't :-/ ) is Leicester.

Anyhow, speaking of York (), Bath supposedly has Britain's best shopping street in its environs in Milsom Street (although when things like this happen at its entrance you have to wonder about that). York, on the other hand, has Britain's most picturesque street, in the interestingly-named Shambles. (The Royal Crescent, again in Bath, just happened to come second.)

Well, you have really found a difficult one to trace here.I have split the name in to two:-

Sails....Nautical in terminology.....-bury..This suffix signifies a fortified area

This would signify a strongly defended maritime area, which fits in with your "Army" clue.

Portsmouth would also be a place to make an association in a guarded naval establisment.
