Poxwell (sometimes written Pokeswell) in Dorset is also the location of a demolished church.

St. Peter's Church, Fryston
Built in 1896 to serve the newly developed village it was demolished in 1991 following the closure of the colliery. The cemetery and war memorial are all that remain.

St John's Church was a Church of England church in Poxwell, Dorset, England. It was built in 1867–68 as a replacement to an earlier church and was demolished in 1969.

The parish church of St. Margaret of Antioch at Wellow, Hampshire is notable as the burial site of Florence Nightingale, whose family home was the nearby Embley Park.

Florence Nightingale undertook some of her early training at Hounslow
