Northwich in Cheshire West & Chester also has a church that is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin.
Agden was one of the smallest Civil Parishes in England. The largest settlement falling into this category is Northampton (population 137 000).Agden in Cheshire East was also once under the jurisdiction of the Altrincham Poor Law Únion.
I suspect that I'm going senile; I initially read "Northamptonshire" for Nottinghamshire, and felt sure that I knew Clipstone was in Northamptonshire -- maybe mental muddling with, in that county, Brixworth and/or Pitsford (resembling post #39,868's Pitstone). Having got right with Clipstone, indeed in Notttinghamshire -- that settlement has (genuinely) a pub with the favourite "cliche / meme" name of the Dog and Duck. The same is true of Bognor Regis, West Sussex.Clipstone in Nottinghamshire is another location where the English parliament has been convened.
