Clehonger has the same meaning (clayey wooded hillside) as, and has evolved into, the surname Clayhanger, the name of a character and eponymous novel by the great, if somewhat overlooked these days, Arnold Bennett, born in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

Little Lever in Greater Manchester also has a church that is dedicated to St Matthew.
Born in Little Lever, was the appropriately-named Thomas Lever (1521 -- 77), a Protestant reformer. In the latter part of his life, he was Archdeacon of Coventry. (Understandably, for the duration of Mary Tudor's reign, T.L relocated to Switzerland.)

I admit total and utter defeat in my researches into that Scottish Borders settlement. The only St Agnes in that region that I came across was a holiday catering establishment...
Oh, dear -- feel that I've been a bit evil here. Could find reference to St Agnes, Borders, only in my AA Britain Road Atlas -- tiny village, in location described by me; thought that its being on the B6355 road, would furnish an association of some kind. If I'm reckoned to have been, in this, "playing dirty"; am willing to strike out my post re this settlement, thus back to St. Agnes, Cornwall ...I admit total and utter defeat in my researches into that Scottish Borders settlement. Springholm in Dumfries and Galloway is the only other settlement in that area that is not bypassed by the A75 road.
A little way west of Springholm -- off the main road -- lies the bigger village of Kirkpatrick Durham. (We learn that the "Durham" here, means "barren land": the name of the D-part-namesake English city, is otherwise derived: from respective words in two different "old tongues", for "hill fort", and "island".)

Pierowall in Orkney also has a marina.
"Scrabbling-around" a bit: Pierowall (island of Westray) would seem to be nearly the northernmost settlement in the Orkney Islands; admittedly Hollandstoun on North Ronaldsay, is further north. Longhope (islands Hoy / South Walls) would appear to be nearly the islands' southernmost settlement; Burwick on South Ronaldsay is further south. (On a recent brief visit to Orkney, it struck me as a delightfully batty place -- fitting, that the two Ronaldsays should be, not neighbours; but the respective furthest-north and -south islands in the group.)
