Liverpool spelt backwards, comes out rather charmingly as "Looprevil". Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire: is, backwards -- the rather fun "Drazzub Nothgiel". The humorist Paul Jennings -- whose stuff gives me considerable pleasure, and who was an aficionado of spelling place-names backwards and seeing what came therefrom: fantasised Drazzub Nothgiel as having been a hideous monster, slain after a three-day battle by the giant / hero Yrub -- this latter, commemorated in very many English place-names.

Lispole in County Kerry also is a settlement in which the remains of a Gaelic ringfort were discovered.

Thomas Ashe was born in Lispole. He was a senior commander in the Easter Rising of 1916. After release from prison just over a year later he was soon re-arrested on separate charges of sedition. In August 1917, Ashe was arrested and charged with sedition for a speech that he made in Ballinalee, County Longford.

Kilmichael also saw fighting in 1920, during the Irish War of Independence.

Kilmichael has a namesake settlement in the US State of Mississippi -- a very tiny town indeed. There is also in Mississippi, a settlement named Aberdeen: by no means a huge metropolis, but many times bigger than Kilmichael.

Nether Graveship in Westmorland was also once under the jurisdiction of the Kendal Poor Law Union.

Nether Graveship's name is reckoned to refer to its being an area administered by an -- in the old tongue -- greve or grieve or grave = steward. A settlement also featuring a two-syllable "Grave"-word -- at the opposite end of England -- is Graveney, Kent (between Faversham and Whitstable). This one's name is derived from the de Gravene family; who together with the de Feversham family, were holders of the village in the 12th and 13th Centuries. Thus the name of neither settlement in this post, is anything to do with disposal of the dead by lowering them down -- whether on land or at sea !

Lockerbie in Dumfries and Galloway also has a church that is dedicated to All Saints.

The eastern end of the A709 road -- running to there from Dumfries -- is at Lockerbie. On said road, between the the two bigger settlements, lies the village of Torthorwald (about four miles east of Dumfries).

The pre-Reformation church at Torthorwald belonged to the Trinitarian Friars of Fail in Ayrshire.

Knaresborough Priory was a Trinitarian House in the town of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
