Bethlehem, Carmarthenshire -- between Llandeilo and Llangadog -- is another settlement which could be described as "named in whole or in part, after somewhere around the far end of the Mediterranean".

The River Camlad flows through the parish of Chirbury, first to the east and then to the north of the village, on its way from Church Stoke (also known as Churchstoke) (in the south) to its confluence with the River Severn (in the northwest).

North Walsham has a South Walsham, also in Norfolk, "to go with it" -- though "South" is some distance away from "North": about a dozen miles south-west thereof; and with a Norfolk Broad bearing its name.

Beaumaris Castle was declared part of The Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd World Heritage Site in 1986. It includes the castles of Beaumaris and Harlech and the castles and town walls of Caernarfon and Conwy.

The author Philip Pullman -- most renowned for the His Dark Materials fantasy trilogy -- attended secondary school in Harlech. I learn that this gentleman, in his "spare time" from writing, is -- and has been lifelong -- a keen fan of Norwich City football club.

Sculthorpe has a pub called the Sculthorpe Aviator. Along those general lines -- Mawgan Porth, Cornwall -- near Newquay -- has a pub called the Flying Machine.

Per old-time lore, Babingley is the spot where St. Felix of Burgundy, the Apostle to the East Angles, landed in that region in AD 615. We learn: "A legend claims that Felix was shipwrecked on the River Babingley -- leading from B., to the Wash -- but a colony of beavers [then a resident British wildlife species] saved him from drowning. So in gratitude, St. Felix consecrated the chief beaver as a bishop. The village sign records the legend, showing a beaver with a bishop's mitre, ministering to other beavers." Marvellously mad, but delightful. Association here, with another saintly luminary from those centuries: St. Cuthbert, who in his time as a hermit on the Farne Islands, interacted affectionately and to mutual benefit; with otters, and eider ducks. (So much for glum and rigorous Christians who maintain that "the brute creation" is of no consequence, and should be ignored -- only humans matter.)

Probably one of the nearest to the Farnes, churches dedicated to St. Cuthbert: is that of Blyth, Northumberland.

There is a pub near Earsdon, called the Beehive Inn. There is a hostelry of the same name in Reigate, Surrey.

Market Harborough is also on the A508
Edit: Thanks to D6130. Looks like autocorrect was a bit overzealous on the corrections. As for the 508/5808 I have no explanation!

Ripon is twinned with Foix, in the French departement of Ariege. For a "counterpart", having to go to the neighbouring departement of Pyrenees Orientales; and the city of Perpignan therein, which is twinned with Lancaster.
