Frampton Cotterell is located on one of, what sometimes feel like south-and-west England's innumerable Rivers Frome. Another river by that name, not very far away -- and likewise, a tributary of the Bristol Avon -- flows basically south-to-north in Somerset; passing through the eponymous town of Frome (on the Great Western route to the West Country); and just south thereof, through the village of Blatchbridge.

Up to the mid 19th century a pagan custom persisted at Buckland-in-the-Moor where local youths would sacrifice a sheep on midsummer day and sprinkle themselves with it's blood. As late as 2012 there were reports of satanic slaughter of sheep in Devon, including those of a Tavistock farmer.

Recondite saint's / church names again: Tavistock has a church dedicated to St. Eustachius -- a decidedly rare such dedication in Britain. However; Hoo, Suffolk (three miles north-west of Wickham Market) has a church with joint dedicatees St. Andrew and St. Eustachius.

Hampton-on-Sea, before it ceased to be, was a prominent and well-regarded oyster venue -- as has long been true of nearby Whitstable. Also of long-standing renown on the oyster scene, is Carlingford (Co. Louth).

A pet hate of mine: the IMO far, far too much fiction, "book or play", churned out by hack writers involving assorted famous, often artistic, figures from the past: in the role of amateur detectives (I feel that in general, a great deal too much fifth-rate "detective"-type rubbish sees the light of day). A horror of this kind, happily unknown to me before today, was a 2018 BBC detective show set in Stratford in Shakespeare's time, called Shakespeare and Hathaway, Private Investigators. Another litterateur of times past, whom poor-quality authors seem to have a compulsion to turn into a detective: is Jane Austen (to whose writing I am allergic). There's a lady who has written a considerable sequence of such tripe -- which heaven preserve me from ever having to read -- starring Ms. Austen; one of which has a setting of J.A. staying with her brother and his family in Godmersham, Kent (between Canterbury and Ashford).

Hereford Cathedral is one of the cornerstones of the annual Three Choirs Festival. The other two cathedrals involved are at Worcester and Gloucester.

Though associated above all, with his native West Midlands: the composer Edward Elgar called in at Settle on many occasions, to visit his friend Dr. Charles William Bock; and around the end of World War I, he dwelt fairly briefly in Fittleworth, West Sussex -- some seven miles north of Arundel.

Ashton-under-Lyne has a pub called the Witchwood -- a venue of some local fame for musical entertainment, one gathers. Similarity in name -- different derivation for virtually sure, it would seem -- involving the Wychwood pub in Shipton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire: the village being one of a cluster of three with "under-Wychwood" names -- in the area of the ancient Wychwood Forest -- situated between Burford and Charlbury.

Dartford, Kent, is also twinned with a settlement in the German State of Hesse. Saffron Walden's "twin" is Bad Wildungen (looks / sounds a little bit similar !) -- Dartford's is Hanau.
