I would seem to learn that Kilmacrennan in fact lies on two rivers -- the Lennon and the Lurgy. What with Beatles, and epidemics in juvenile parlance -- "you couldn't make it up". Source of eruditon, further says: that this settlement has a soccer club called Kilmacrennan Celtic. A football-club name which features in places of rather greater renown -- reckoning Glasgow just too mainstream / boring; am informed that there's also a football club called Belfast Celtic -- having essentially zero interest in sport, I have difficulty making out whether this outfit is engaged in soccer, or Gaelic football -- and, to be honest, find it difficult to care .

The village of Fortingall was built in 1890-1891 by shipowner and Unionist MP, Sir Donal Currie, who had bought the Glenlyon Estate - including the village - in 1885. The village was designed by the architect James M MacLaren and built by John McNaughton. Another building designed by James M MacLaren is the Town Hall at Aberfeldy, which was built between 89 and 1891.

Kenmore in Perth & Kinross also lies on the line of the River Tay.

A little way north-east of Kenmore, is Taymouth Castle: a huge and impressive mansion built in "castle" architectural style in the early 19th century. It occupies the site of Balloch Castle -- a considerably older, defensive-type "real" castle, which was demolished by the eminent and wealthy landowner concerned: for the present structure to be erected in its stead. Some way to the south-west in Scotland, there is another Balloch: the village of that name in West Dunbartonshire, at the southern extremity of Loch Lomond.

Balloch was formerly the Southern terminus and operating/maintenance base for the steamer services on Loch Lomond - operated from 1953 onwards by the paddle steamer "Maid of the Loch", which is currently undergoing restoration to working order on the slipway in the town. The furthest North settlement served by the vessel was Ardlui.

Ardlui has a rather charmingly "small-time" ferry service which carries people at need (most usually, those walking the West Highland Way) across the northern end of Loch Lomond. There is a long way to the south -- in Suffolk -- a comparable operation traversing the River Deben estuary -- a short crossing which allows direct travel, saving a very considerable distance: for the five miles as one's preferred bird flies, between Felixstowe and Bawdsey.

One of the others is the Coptic Orthodox Church of St George & St Athanasius Church, which is part of the Diocese of Ireland, Scotland, North East England and its Affiliated Regions. Worcestershire's assorted "Kyre" / "Kyre-plus" hamlets threaten to defeat me: they're on the map; but effectively, nothing discovered to associate with them ! Slight degree of cheating, perhaps: the Kyres' "metropolis" can be reckoned to be Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.

Lord Alfred Douglas (1870 -- 1945) -- probably best known as having been Oscar Wilde's boyfriend; though much else also occurred in his long and eventful life: was born in Powick. He died in Lancing, West Sussex.
