Wroxton has associations with Lord North, and family thereof: North was Prime Minister of Great Britain 1770 -- 82; he is buried at Wroxton's parish church of All Saints, and the village had a pub, now closed, commemoratively called the North Arms. Per Wiki, Lord North "led Britain through most of the American War of Independence" (many opine that he did that, incompetently -- result, the Americans won, and threw us out). Associatable with the same conflict, is the pub in Woodstown, Co. Waterford -- a few miles south-east of Waterford city -- called the Saratoga Bar.
