Rudhall of Gloucester was a family business of bell founders in Gloucester, who between 1684 and 1835 cast more than 5,000 bells. The Church of England parish church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Longcot contains five bells cast in 1722, together with the treble bell cast in 1729 to complete a ring of six. All eight bells at the Church of St Anne, Shandon, Cork were cast by Abel Rudhall in 1750, although they were recast twice in 1865 and 1906.

Situated in Shandon, is the Cork Butter Museum. There is a Cheese Museum just north-west of Settle, North Yorkshire.

A minor battle in the Wars of the Roses also took place at Edgcote, Northamptonshire (north-east of Banbury).

Being perhaps a bit morbid about that famed and much-loved comedy-writing duo Frank Muir and Denis Norden -- although they were born within a couple of years of each other, their deaths were twenty years apart: Muir's in 1998 in Thorpe, Surrey; Norden's in Hampstead (London Borough of Camden) in 2018, at the age of 96.

Hampstead has long been a haunt of writers and intellectuals. One former resident was poet John Keats, who lived in what is now the Grade I listed Keats House located in the former John St (now re-named Keats Grove), Hampstead. Keats was born in 1795 in the City of London.

Wednesfield was formerly renowned for the making of all kinds of traps, from mousetraps to mantraps (!); and locks. In the same vein, Redditch, Worcestershire -- not all that far away -- was once the world's premier venue for the making of needles, and fish-hooks.

Swanmore lies just outside the South Downs National Park; Mid Lavant, West Sussex, lies just within it.

The Lavant Drum, a neolithic cylindrical chalk artifact, was found at Mid Lavant in 1993. Three similar examples were discovered in 1889 at Folkton in North Yorkshire. Their purpose is said to have been for measuring lengths of cord to be used in surveying, although I don't know what evidence there is for this.

St Paul's Church, Quarndon has a pipe organ was built by John Mitchell Grunwell of Becket Mill, Derby, in 1874. This, however, is much yoiunger than the oldest (complete) surviving church organ in the UK, which is that by Renatus Harris in St Botolph's Aldgate (or St Botolph without Aldgate and Holy Trinity Minories), which dates from 1744. Minories is a small former administrative unit, and also of a street in central London.

Chester is noted for the number of black-and-white timbered buildings, a feature of the Tudor Revival architectural movement from the middle of the 19th century.

Another example of this style (wooden framing painted black, with panels between the frames painted white) occurs at the 1849-vintage Court House at Worsley, Greater Manchester.

Little Rollright is only just in Oxfordshire, being very near the Warwickshire border. Similarly with Ashbrittle, Somerset (west of Wellington); it is very close to the border of Devon.
