Richard Norman Shaw RA (1831 – 1912), also known as Norman Shaw, designed All Saints Church, Swanscombe in 1894. It was built out of knapped flint for the workers of the cement industry, and survives as a rare example of his design, covering several Gothic Revival styles throughout its architecture and features. Another All Saints’ Church in which he was involved is at Youlgreave in Derbyshire. It is a Grade I Listed building which dates from the late 12th century, with 14th-, 15th- and 16th-century elements; it was restored by Norman Shaw between 1869 and 1870.
