Kilmacduagh is very close to the town of Gort; which has a sizeable Brazilian community. St. Helier, Jersey, has a Portuguese community of some magnitude (nearest I could get to Brazilians !).

We can't get away from Stours these days ! I'm going to hymn the joys of the Dorset Stour; on which Blandford Forum lies.

Until the Reform Act of 1832, Hindon was a notoriously corrupt example of the abuses of the voting system that had gone on up to then (rotten / pocket boroughs and all that). Another such -- an actual "rotten borough" -- was Dunwich, Suffolk: a tiny village, but still treated re the voting process, as the sizeable town which it had been, until the loss of most of it to coastal erosion in medieval times.

Gorleston-on-Sea, just to the north of Hopton, was also formerly in Suffolk, but is now in Norfolk. The county-switch happened for Gorleston in 1835; for Hopton, in 1974.

Yelling in Huntingdonshire was also once administered by the Hundred of Toseland.

With information re the above-bolded seeming a bit meagre: things on the facetious side tempt, concerning what one of the masters in my schooldays used to call "animal noises". In Shropshire -- between Telford and Market Drayton -- Yelling has a kind of companion in that realm: the village of Howle (actual alternative spelling "Howl").

Chegworth Mill offers a Glamping accommodation to those who like this Yurty sort of thing.

Another Glamping site - possibly less bucolic and more rain-soaked than Kent - is located at the Llechwedd slate quarries in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

This is far too strenuous for me, but Llanberis is the home of the Slateman Triathlon which runs in early summer each year. It attracts over 2,000 triathletes and many more spectators over two days. It is a mountain triathlon which begins in Llyn Padarn, follows on the bike up to Capel Curig, and finishes with a run in the Snowdonian mountains. (Time for a lie down after just typing this piece!)

Agreed -- these athletic wallahs, they crazy ! The "Curig" part of Capel Curig, comes from the dedication of the settlement's church to the early Christian martyrs, the three-year-old Saint Quiricus ("Curig" = that name "Welshicised") and his mother Julitta. Very few churches in Great Britain are dedicated to this saint-pair: another which is -- is that of Swaffham Prior, Cambridgeshire.

Dagnall is located very near the joining-point of three counties: Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire. The same applies to Thistleton; re Rutland, Leicestershire, and Lincolnshire.

Carrickfergus CC play their home matches at Middle Road, Carrickfergus, and are members of the Northern Cricket Union Premier League. One of their opponents in the 2021 season were North Down CC, who are based in Comber, County Down.

Rather "going large" and hoping for indulgence re same: Newtownards has an alley called "Devil's Elbow". On the A93 road over the Cairnwell Pass between Spittal of Glenshee (Perth & Kinross) and Braemar (Aberdeenshire): there is on the Perth & Kinross side of the county boundary, a feature likewise named "Devil's Elbow".

Guildtown is on the path of the Carbusmichael Burn, which runs from it's source to it's end at a point nearly opposite the village of Stanley, which is on the north side of the River Tay.
