Wapping's "main street" is Ratcliff Highway -- more often especially nowadays, simply called The Highway -- celebrated for centuries "in song and story", for copious violent and raffish doings. A near-correspondence in name, concerns a presumably more tranquil place: the village of Ratcliffe on the Wreake, between Leicester and Melton Mowbray.
