One wonders whether Mr. Bunyan would have agreed? Fond feelings for his home town notwithstanding; I suspect not...

Another kind of Eden, and a garden of sorts, is the Eden Project at St Blazey, Cornwall

Leicester's Church in Denbigh is an unfinished church. In 1579, Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester, who was also Baron of Denbigh, planned for it to be a cathedral and for the status of city to be moved from neighbouring St Asaph. However, the project ran out of money, and when Robert Dudley died, it was left as ruins; it is now in the care of Cadw.

The poet and architect John Jones (1810 -- 1869), born at Llanfair Talhaiarn, took the bardic name "Talhaiarn", from his birthplace. A slightly older contemporary, and namesake, was the famous and well-loved Calvinistic Methodist minister and preacher, often known as John Jones Talysarn: from the village of that name, six or seven miles south of Caernarfon, where he spent the majority of his life.

The above-bolded settlement lies on the River Dun -- a tributary of the Kennet, closely following the Kennet & Avon Canal. There is another River Dun, in Northern Ireland; Cushendun (Co. Antrim) is situated on the coast, at the point where the Dun enters the sea.
