Dromara lies in the Barony (historical Irish administrative division) of Iveagh Lower, Lower Half. The aristocratic Iveagh family have long been closely involved with the brewing firm of Guinness; a major and long-standing brewery of which is situated at St. James's Gate, Dublin.

Athgarvan lies adjacent to the large plainland area called the Curragh. "Way back" -- flourishing a century-plus ago, and later -- there was a lengthy motor-racing circuit, along public roads, in that area; passing through, among various other settlements: Stradbally (Co. Laois).

Wiki says of Ickenham -- IMO rather delightfully -- that "no major historical events have taken place" there. Again per Wiki, the same would seem to be true (despite the settlement's proximity to the Welsh border) of Clun, Shropshire: the town and its neighbouring "Clun**** " villages being commemorated in the rhyme, as "the quietest places under the sun".

Clunbury in Shropshire was also once administered by the Hundred of Purslow.

Appropriately, Purslow's pub is called the Hundred House. There is another hostelry of the same name, in a less remote part of Shropshire: at Norton, between Telford and Bridgnorth.

Until the reorganisation of Welsh local government on 1st April 1974, Hanmer was in the detached part of the historic county of Flintshire known as English Maelor, whose market town and administrative centre was Overton.

Styal is one of a number of villages which are located a very short distance from the perimeter fence of Manchester Airport. Another such village, on the other side of the Airport, is Hale Barns.

At Hoar Cross is an 80-acre tract of woodland; a remnant of the former Needwood Forest which used to cover this area. There is another and larger surviving forested tract a few miles away, near Abbots Bromley.

The Parish Church of St Peter and St Blaise is, apart from a village hall dating from 1905, the only significant public building in Somersal Herbert. It is basically medieval and, before the Reformation, was dedicated to St Blaise. It was rebuilt in 1836 and again in 1874 by a local architect, C J Neale of Mansfield.

Snowdown is too small to feature on the maps of, or in the index of, the AA Great Britain Road Atlas. The same is true of the wondrously-named Goitre, near Newtown, Powys.

There is a public house in Atcham called the Mytton & Mermaid; it was owned at one time by Clough Williams-Ellis as a staging post on the way to his iconic Italianate village of Portmeirion.

Maentwrog hydro-electric power station was opened in 1928, and still produces electricity today. It is supplied by water from Llyn Trawsfynydd, a large man-made reservoir located near the village of Trawsfynydd.
