Richard Makilwaine Phipson (1827–1884) was the diocesan architect for the Anglican Diocese of Norwich, and was responsible for renovating almost 100 churches in East Anglia. In the 1850s, he replaced the tower and spire at St Mary's Church, Woolpit after they were destroyed by lightning. Despite his use of a style typical of Northamptonshire rather than Suffolk, his spire is largely accepted as a success by most authorities, unlike his one at St Andrew's Church, Great Finborough, Suffolk, which is sometimes dubbed "Thunderbird One" after the space rescue vehicle.

William Lambert was born in Warwick in 1765. He was a doctor and an early advocate of a vegetarian diet (he also did not eat eggs or dairy produce), and drank only distilled water. I'm going to be rather naughty -- there's a kind of connection via Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem Jabberwocky, between the above-bolded: and Plymouth. The hateful monster makes its entrance "whiffling through the Tulgey wood": in the heart of Plymouth, there is a small wooded nature reserve called the Tulgey Woods Sanctuary. The poem's relevance to the museum location up north: with the young hero having slain the Jabberwock, the narrator addresses him: "Come to my arms, my beamish boy."

Tim Hunkin (born 1950) is an English engineer, cartoonist, writer, and artist living in Suffolk. His Under the Pier Show at Southwold Pier is a penny arcade featuring a number of humorous, coin-operated machines of his creation. He has also opened Novelty Automation, an amusement arcade in Holborn, London, which has a more satirical tone, of which he has said "I don’t think political art has an enormous effect, but in the short term it is satisfying to reinforce people’s disrespect of the villains."
The first Christchurch lifeboat was in service by early 1804. It was Number 17 of the 31 'Original' lifeboats designed and built by Henry Greathead of South Shields, making Mudeford one of the earliest places on the coast of Great Britain to operate a purpose-built rescue boat.
