The Raiders Ice Hockey Club (formerly known as the Romford Raiders) are based in Romford, and participate in the National Division of the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL), the second tier of British ice hockey. The Bees Ice Hockey Club play in the same league, and have moved from Bracknell, Berkshire to Slough, Berkshire for the 2020 / 2021 season.

One of the cartoonist Bill Tidy's best-known-and-loved creations, was the strip cartoon about the male folk-dance troupe The Cloggies, who were based in his fictional Northern city of Blagdon. Tidy was born in Tranmere, Merseyside.

If we're talking about tenuous connections ... possibly the most notable person to have an association with Upton is "Dixie" Dean, who holds the league record for the most goals scored in one season, and who worked in Upton as a delivery boy. William Ralph Dean (it's said that Dean and his family disliked his nickname, and preferred people to call him "Bill" or "Billy") was born at 313 Laird Street in Birkenhead on 22nd January 1907.

Sadberge's name comes from the Old Danish for "flat hill" -- indicating the high degree of Viking influence in this area. There are such signs of this influence elsewhere in northern England, including some areas further west; e.g. around Sedbergh, Cumbria -- similar name, from very same root.

My records (very old ones) suggested that both the Rawthey and the Lune met in the environs of High Stangerthwaite.

Can someone adjudicate, please.

A quick look at aerial photos in Google Maps confirms today's High Stangerthwaite is just a collection of farm buildings.
Also that the River Rawthey converges with the Lune at the bottom of what is most likely one of the farm's fields.
So I believe @Xenophon PCDGS's post is a valid association - albeit a tricky location to move forward from.

Hindley in Greater Manchester is also located at longitude 2° 35' W.

St Peter's Church, Hindley was built in 1866 and contained an organ by Edmund Schulze (1824 - 1878), although it has since replaced by an electronic organ. Edmund Schulze was a German organ builder, who exhibited an organ in England at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Among his celebrated organs are one originally built for Meanwood Towers, Meanwood, Leeds in 1869; it has been transferred several times and is now in use at St Bartholomew's Church, Armley, Leeds.

Some paintings by John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836 -- 1893: Leeds-born and largely, resident) are reckoned to be inspired by scenes in the contiguous Meanwood Park. A fair number of pictures by this artist, are of Scarborough scenes.

At the other extreme of settlement size from the above-bolded: is the hamlet of Braceborough, near Bourne, Lincolnshire. Has in common with Southampton, that both have had brief-ish spells of being reckoned as spa towns, with a certain amount of clientele for "the waters" -- in the 19th, and 18th, centuries respectively.
