Llanbradach had a public house named the De Winton Hotel (closed in recent years); there is still a pub bearing the same name in Tonypandy in the Rhondda.
The name means in Welsh, "The grove of the magpie". Another settlement with a name (probably) derived from a species of bird is Swanbourne, Buckinghamshire -- reckoned to mean "swan stream".
