Dermot Morgan, who played Father Ted Crilley in Father Ted lived in Hounslow at the time of his death in 1998. He was born on 3rd March 1952 in Dublin, and was educated at Oatlands College, which is in the Dublin suburb of Stillorgan.

Stillorgan has what is claimed to be the first shopping centre* (presumably traffic free) in Ireland. The first large enclosed shopping centre* in Britain was Brent Cross in Hendon, north London.

*it all depends on how you define these things, of course.

The Bolesworth Estate at Broxton includes a sandstone garden temple containing a statue of the Roman goddess Diana, which was designed by notable architect Clough Williams-Ellis.

Other examples of Williams-Ellis's work are cottages in the Warwickshire village of Bishop's Itchington.

The Lord of the Manor of Stroxton in the mid 19th century was Sir Glynne Welby-Gregory Bt (1806-75), born in Denton, Lincs. He was MP for Grantham (as had been his father, and as his oldest son would also be)

The London Brick Company has brick manufacturing facilities in Whittlesey
In East Lancashire, several different sites were involved in production of the characteristic red Accrington Bricks, including the Redac factory at Huncoat.

The botanist and illustrator Rev. W Keble Martin was the Rector of Coffinswell in the 1920s, and studied the local flora. He died in 1969 at the age of 92 at Woodbury, East Devon.

Between 1872 and 1878, Wyfield Court, Rotherfield Peppard was designed by the architect George Somers Clarke (1841 – 1926). In 1889, he was also
responsible for the design of St Mary's Church, Potton, Bedfordshire.
