On Christmas Eve 1971 BBC TV screened what was to be the first in an annual series of programmes A Ghost Story for Christmas.
The first production was an adaptation of a classic M.R. James ghost story entitled The Stalls of Barchester and was filmed on location at Norwich Cathedral.
The following episode, aired on Christmas Eve 1972, was an adaptation of another of James's stories A Warning to the Curious, which was partly filmed at Wells-next-the-Sea.

Cadwaladers is a family run chain of cafes that originated by David and Hannah Cadwalader in 1927 in Criccieth. It was originally run as a general store but when business was passed onto one of their children, Dafydd, he changed the emphasis of the store and sold, from the end of World War II, vanilla ice cream that Hannah Cadwalader developed.
After Dafydd Cadwalader died in 1983, Cadwalader's was bought by a family of Welsh entrepreneurs, the Andrews Family who expanded the business to cover North Wales and Cardiff. Today, Cadwalader's stores can be found in Wales at amongst other places,Barry Island.

Whilst working in the University, Cynan lived in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, but in his best known poem he expressed a wish to retire to Aberdaron, Caernarfonshire.
