Lelant is on the Hayle Estuary where there is a RSPB nature reserve. The RSPB also have one on the Somerset Levels, West Sedgemoor, near Curry Rivel

Griggs Quay is adjacent to Lelant village. Griggs Approach, on the other hand, is in Ilford. I wonder of there is a connection?

Oh dear, left behind again!

St Saviour's Church in Brookwood has a puppet church service for children once a month. All Saints in Preston on Tees also has a puppet team.

Newport used to have a portreeve to collect customs duties. Ashburton in Devon still has one, but the role now seems to be to attend charitable fund-raising events.

Kirtlington has a village festival with medieval roots called the "Lamb Ale". It used to include some very odd events, but now seems to be mostly about Morris dancing (and no doubt a certain amount of ale). Findon has a sheep fair and village festival, which does seem to focus on sheep!
