The Settlement Association Quiz!

This works in exactly the same manner as the Station Association Quiz, only this thread concentrates on the thousands of inhabited locales instead of their railway stations. As such, a request has been made in the Station Association Quiz to keep everything in that thread railway-related from here onwards.

Perhaps an opportune time to highlight the differences between the Settlement Association quiz and the Station Association quiz.

Axminster is at the crossroads of the A358, which links with the A303 at Ilminster, and the A35 from Southampton to Honiton, which has been diverted by a bypass to the south of the town.

Wiveliscombe was the birthplace of Francis Escott "Frank" Hancock (1859 – 1943) who is best known as being the sport's first fourth threequarter player, which changed the formation of rugby union play that lasts to the present day. He moved to Cardiff to become involved in his family's brewing company, which had a brewery there, and began to play for Cardiff RFC and, later, Wales.

Sutton-cum-Duckmanton (what a splendidly named place!) is a civil parish in Derbyshire, England, lying between Bolsover and Chesterfield but in the district of North East Derbyshire. It contains the villages of Arkwright Town (another splendid name!), Duckmanton, Long Duckmanton, and Sutton Scarsdale.

The Miner's Way Trail is a long-distance circular footpath in England, starting at Sholden, Kent. Linking up the coalfield parishes of East Kent, including the parishes of Deal, Ash, Aylesham, Chillenden, Eastry, Eythorne, Elvington, Goodnestone, Nonington, Northbourne, Betteshanger, Coldred, Staple, Tilmanstone and Wingham.
